Mandatory meeting today for HCHS athletes; football camp Aug. 1 / July 23, 2018
A mandatory meeting for all Halifax County High School athletes interested in competing in sports this coming year will be Monday at 6:30 p.m. at the HCHS auditorium. A second meeting will be held July 30 at 6:30 p.m. in the auditorium.

Attendance at one of these meetings by both athlete and parent is required prior to tryouts.

The HCHS football program is conducting a 50/50 fundraiser at the South Boston Speedway on Saturday, July 28. Gates open at 5 p.m., race starts at 7 p.m., drawing will be at approximately 8:30 p.m.

The annual Coach Grayson Throckmorton’s “Football is Life” Fundamentals Clinic will be held Monday and Tuesday, July 30-31. It is for all school-aged kids and registration starts each day at 5 p.m. at the fieldhouse weight room.

The clinic runs from 6-8 p.m. each night and its $10, which includes instruction, insurance, t-shirt, Powerade, and guest speaker.

Official, mandatory football camp begins Wednesday, Aug. 1. Varsity and jayvee players are to report to the fieldhouse weight room at 3 p.m. sharp, with cleats, tennis shoes, and athletic clothes. Players must have a completed physical, signed by a doctor.
