New Big Four tounament showcases minor leaguers basbell / July 07, 2014
Local youth baseball organizers have created a new tournament for the minor league players.

The Big Four tournament starts tonight at the HC-South baseball facility in Cluster Springs.

The championship game is set for Thursday night at 6:30 pm., with a second game that evening at 8 p.m., if necessary.

There are four teams, with a three-game guarantee for each squad.

There will be no gate charge. Concessions are available.

This event is for local minor leaguers, ages 8-10, and gives these players an opportunity for extra postseason baseball experience, and some more fun for everyone involved.

The event features doubleheaders tonight, tomorrow, and Wednesday.

The opening night brackets feature South Boston National vs. HC South tonight at 6:30 pm., followed by Scottsburg competing against South Boston American at 8 p.m. The tournament then moves on until Thursday, when a champion for this event will be determined.
