Park View girls fall to Halifax in overtime

The Halifax County High School varsity girls downed Park View, 78-66, in overtime Monday night in South Boston.

Park View played a very competitive game, with the score tied at halftime and again at the end of regulation.

Halifax got off to a fast start in overtime, scoring the first ten points in the extra period. The Comets, now 4-2, sparked the run by capitalizing on quick turnovers and solid defensive pressure.

Halifax outscored Park View, 30-24, in the final stages of the game.

Dee Dee Jeffress paced all scorers with 29 points, continuing her pattern as the Comets’ primary offensive threat.

Ella Morrison and Talitha Marable added 11 points apiece for the Comets.

Nikyia Harrison led the Dragon girls with 20 points and Nirya Hawkins had 17.
