The Park View varsity girls handed Bluestone a 59-33 defeat Monday night in the season opener for both teams in South Hill.

Park View was led by Jaidyn Lamb with 13. Also scoring in double figures for Park View was Mikya Harrison with 11.

“It was a typical first outing, we didn’t play well but we played better as the game went on. There are some rough edges but there’s a lot we can build on.

“Our ladies need to be more active when we’re playing that zone,” he said. “They get a little passive … We have a lot of speed and can get up and down the floor, we just have to use it smartly,” coach Mike Barmoy said.

Bluestone was paced by Iesha Gregory with 11 and Kaitlyn Shanklin with seven.
