The Park View Dragons golfers have faced the Southampton Indians four times this year and played second banana three of those times. The fourth time was the charm, however, as the Dragons got past the Indians in the 3A Regional Golf Tournament held at Dogwood Trace Country Club in Petersburg Wednesday.

By taking the runner-up spot in the regional tournament, the Park View golfers have secured a spot in the VHSL 3A State Tournament to be held on Oct. 8-9 at the Williamsburg National Golf Club in Williamsburg.

The Dragons put together a clutch team score of 48-over-par 336 to take the second spot, besting York High by just five strokes at 341 and Southampton by seven at 343. New Kent High School was the class of the field, however, and their four golfers carded a low total of just 24-over-par 312.

Low scorers for Park View were Jackson Moseley (76, second place tournament medalist), Kenston Hardee (79, third place medalist) Hunter Sykes (87), Kelsey Moseley (94), Mason Mills (100) and Patrick Moss (106).
