Park View golfers fall short of district championship

South Boston News
Dragon teammates Jackson Moseley and Kelsey Moseley received recognition as Tri-Rivers All District Golfers at the District tournament held on Sept. 19 at Cypress Cove Country Club in Franklin. / September 26, 2018
The Park View golf team traveled to Franklin on Sept. 19 for the 2018 Tri-Rivers District Golf Tournament, played on the 18-hole layout at Cypress Cove Country Club.

Park View competed hard but unfortunately came up just short of the team goal of winning back-to-back district titles. Park View ceded this year’s championship to a strong Southampton Indians team.

The top four scorers put together a team score of 363 strokes, falling 23 strokes shy of the winning Indians with 340. Greensville County had a team score of 367 and Windsor finished with a 404.

Park View finished second to the Indians in the regular season and now take the runner-up spot in the tournament as well.

Individual scores on the par 72 Cypress Cove course for Park View were: Jackson Moseley 86, Kelsey Moseley 91, Mason Mills 92, Hunter Sykes 94, Kenston Hardee 95, Patrick Moss 103.

Jackson Moseley and Kelsey Moseley were both recognized for their achievements this season and earned All District Honors.
