Park View volleyball squad traveled to Lawrenceville on Wednesday for a scrimmage against Brunswick Academy (BA).

Both the Dragon varsity and jayvee teams came up short in scrimmage action.

Jayvee -
Brunswick Academy 2, Park View 1

The jayvees looked a little out of their element in the first game and fell to BA by a score of 25-14. As the game progressed, though, Park View showed marked improvement as the jitters faded away. Trailing by as many as 15 points, the JV Dragons rallied to lose by 11.

Game two saw an entirely different performance by PV. The Dragon girls jumped out early and pulled away to a 10-5 lead. The Lady Vikings didn’t quit though and rallied to trail by just one, 15-14. PV then went on a 5-1 run to take a 20-15 lead and then pushed hard for the 25-22 win.

As game three started, Park View appeared to run out of gas and the BA girls took advantage, jumping out a 15-3 victory in the final game.

Varsity - BA 3, PV 1

Game one went to Brunswick Academy 25-20 as the teams were neck and neck until BA pulled away at the end.

Park View trailed 14-8 in game two when they went on a 13-2 run to take a 21-16 lead. BA rallied with four straight points before PV went on a 4-0 run to win, 25-20.

Game three was an evenly played affair with BA coming out on top 25-23.

Park View’s early season lack of conditioning started to show in game four. BA pulled out to a 13-6 lead and it felt as though they were in control. Park View dug deep and tied the game up at 15 before going on to lose 25-17.

Park View varsity team stats: Deaona Watkins 12 kills and 3 aces, Kaylee Coker 8 kills and 1 ace, Asia Green 1 ace, Tori Powell 1 kill and 4 aces, Hannah Powell 1 kill, Jordyn Jackson 2 kills and 1 ace and Madison Reese 1 kill.
