Park View volleyball fall to Lady Indians, top Colonial Heights

The Park View volleyball team suffered their first loss of the season Aug. 28 as the girls traveled to Courtland for a match against last year’s Tri-Rivers District champs, Southampton High School.

The Park View girls fought hard and did not go down without a fight as evidenced by the outcome. It took extra scores for the Lady Indians to win the first game of the match, 26-24, and then they went on to vanquish the Lady Dragons 25-18 and 25-23 to win in straight sets.

The PV girls were led by Deaona Watkins with six kills and four blocks, Courtlyn Hawkins with six kills and two blocks, Grayson Hudson with four kills and a block, Erin Bailey with six assists and Carson Wall with 5 assists.



Lady Dragons bounce back against non-conference opponent Colonial Heights

On Wednesday Park View eturned to their home gym to face Colonials Heights and they got back to their winning ways, sending the Colonials home in straight sets, 25-19, 25-14 and 25-16.

Both Courtlyn Hawkins and Deaona Watkins were brilliant at net combing for 26 kills and nine blocks. Hawkins led the team with 16 kills and seven blocks followed by Watkins with 10 kills and two blocks. Rounding out a solid team performance were Grayson Hudson with eight kills, Cambra Graham with four kills, Erin Bailey with 16 assists and Carson Wall with 12 assists.

With the victory the Lady Dragon improved to 3-1 on the young season. They were scheduled to travel to Stony Creek, Tuesday to face Sussex Central High.



JV Dragon Spikers fall to Southampton

The jayvees fell in straight sets to Southampton on Tuesday night in Courtland.

Kaylee Coker and Madison Reese had 3 and 2 kills respectively for Park View.
