Postseason placement still uncertain for softball / May 21, 2018
Comet varsity softball has had an excellent season, but there’s still uncertainty heading into the all-important regional week as to the seeding.

Depending on the outcome of Orange softball action, Halifax County High School will be either a no. 1 or no. 2. Orange will also be either a no. 1 or 2.

The Comets open elimination regional action Thursday at home. Game times have not been determined.

18 region D softball play begins Wednesday, with 12 teams broken up into north and south regional action. The regional finals will be held on May 31.

State quarterfinals action follows early June. The state semifinals are set for June 8, and the state finals will be held on June 9.

Halifax is either the no. 1 or 2 seed in the south regional bracket.

The Comets open on Thursday at home in elimination action. The regionals will continue May 29, with the regional finals set for May 31.

Brooke Point is the no. 1 seed in the north.
