After starting 0-3 on the season, the Lady Dragons softball team was in need of a win to right the ship — and the Lady Broncos of Franklin High School had no idea what they were in for when they set foot on Dragon territory Wednesday evening.

Thanks to an impressive pitching performance by Emma Wolfe backed by excellent defense, the Lady Dragons sent the Broncos home with a 17-0 shellacking.

Offensively, almost the entire Lady Dragon team got involved in the scoring with the runs piling up each inning. The game was called to an early end in the fourth inning. With the victory, the Dragon girls improved to 1-3 on the season.

The Lady Dragons followed up their dominating performance Wednesday with another rout on Thursday night, this time on the road at Surry County High School. Once again the bats were working very well for the PV ladies from PV as they improved to 2-3 on the year. They will next travel to Halifax to face the Lady Comets.

VFWA No. 7166 will meet Saturday, April 14, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the Post, South Hill, Va. All members are encouraged and invited to attend this very important meeting.
