The season has ended for the Halifax County High School varsity girls soccer team.

Halifax County lost the Western Valley District tournament consolation match Tuesday at GW-Danville, 2-0.

The Comets did have a winning season, finishing 9-8-1.

Halifax did not play especially well in the first half, according to coach Sid Young. GW led 2-0 at the half.

The opportunities were there for the Comets in the second half. HCHS was unable to convert.

Halifax County had 26 shots on goal overall, but could not break into the scoring column.
