Short-handed Comets do well in track meet / March 25, 2019
Halifax County High School boys track had several noteworthy results in an invitational warm up meet Saturday at Randolph College in Lynchburg. A small portion of the boys’ team competed.

Thomas Lee won the shot put with a throw of 41.04.75. Herbert Brooks took third in the shot and also won the discus with a throw of 143.01. Brooks qualified for the regional and state championships in the discus. Zyon Wilson was fourth.

In other results, Ali Ferrell was fourth in the long jump (19-07.00) and Azaad Baskerville third (19.11.25). Baskerville was also second in the triple jump (40-03.25.)

Spencer Hargrave was fourth in the 400 meters in 54.73. Thomas Lee took first in the 400 meter hurdles in 1:01.53.

Jaden Waller, who has had a strong indoor and outdoor season, took second in the high jump in 6-02.
