Six first place finishes for Bluestone in track opener

The Bluestone boys and girls track teams traveled to Goochland last Tuesday, with the boys taking third place with a score of 46 points and the girls placing second with a total of 34 points.

Neil Clayton, Desean Hargrove, Frank Csorba and the boys’ 4x100 squad each placed first. Clayton had a discus throw of 136’ 4”, Hargrove a 100M time of 11.4 and Csorba ran the 1600M in 5:10. The 4x100 relay team won with a time of 46.2.

Cumberland took first place in the boys’ meet with a score of 89. Goochland was close on the heels of the Dukes with 87 points. Behind third-place Bluestone, Randolph-Henry took fourth place with 16 points.

On the girls’ side, Shardine Royster earned first place in the long jump at 15’. Kaliyah Hargrove ran the 100m in a time of 13.4.

Goochland dominated the meet with a score of 112 points. Bluestone in second with 34, Cumberland posted 27 points for third and Randolph-Henry finished fourth with 11 points.

Bluestone competes against Amelia today in a road meet. Start time for the meet is 4:30 p.m.
