South Hill beats Emporia, 9-1 to stay alive in Minors action Tournament / June 28, 2017
The South Hill Dixie Minors All-Stars used nice pitching and some strong at-bats to defeat Emporia 9-1 Monday in a game called after four innings.

South Hill reached the championship game by defeating Emporia on Friday. South Hill had Saturday off as Halifax, which won against Clarksville on opening day, defeated Brunswick on Saturday to set up the Sunday game.

Halifax continued its winning streak by downing South Hill, sending them to the losers’ bracket. On Monday, South Hill dominated Emporia to end their season.

With Halifax still undefeated, South Hill will have to pin a pair of losses on their western rivals to earn the trip to the state championships.

South Hill and Halifax were scheduled to play Tuesday and if South Hill wins, the deciding game will be played Wednesday.
