Spring action resumes for Bluestone

After a week of no sports action at Bluestone, baseball, softball and soccer teams will be busy this week.

The varsity baseball team was scheduled to host Buckingham on Tuesday, barring any postponements due to field conditions. The team travels to Cumberland on Thursday and finishes out the week at home versus the Brunswick Bulldogs.

The Barons have a record of 2-4 in the James River District and are in seventh place as of Monday.

The Lady Barons varsity softball team had a double-header against Kenston Forest cancelled on Monday due to a forecast of severe weather. The Lady Barons’ Tuesday game versus Buckingham was postponed.

The team completes the week with a Thursday game at Bluestone against Cumberland. The Lady Barons are 2-3-1 and are in fourth place in the James River District.

Lady Barons varsity soccer (2-1 JRD, 3-1) takes on Nottoway in a road match today. The girls, who are in second place in the district, complete their week of competition at Appomattox County High School for a 6 p.m. matchup.

The varsity boys soccer team will face off against Cumberland today. The boys have a record of 3-2 and hold fourth place in the JRD.
