Starke earns player of the week honors

SoVaNow.com / October 10, 2012
Former Comet Cameron Starke has earned more honors for his special teams work last week.

Starke was named the CAA Football Special Teams player of the week, the league announced Monday.

Starke converted a career-long 49-yard kick as part of a two field-goal first-half effort for the Dukes, who topped Towson, 13-10, to improve to 8-0 all-time against the Tigers in league play. The junior averaged 63.2 yards on his kickoffs as well, including two that resulted in touchbacks. With his pair of field goals on Saturday, Starke is now 7-for-7 in splitting the uprights at Bridgeforth Stadium.
