Stuggles continue for Comet jayvees

SoVaNow.com / January 21, 2013
The season-long struggles continued for the Halifax County High School jayvee boys’ basketball team.

The Comets lost at GW-Danville Saturday night, 69-39, in another lopsided defeat. Deshane Davis was the lone Comet in double figures with 11 points, while Kori Lennon had nine.

Jarvis Owens also had seven.

But GW, which doubled up HCHS 16-8 in the first period, got scoring contributions from 11 players and raced away from the Comets. GW owned a 40-24 lead at the half, after getting strong first half contributions from Isaiah Bethel and Khajuan Watkins.

Bethel had 16 points, including nine in the first half. Watkins scored 14, including ten in the first half.
