Tennis teams enter region action with high seedings

The Comet boys and girls tennis teams have enjoyed very successful seasons.

The boys have the no. 1 seed in the south bracket in region 18. Albemarle is the no. 2 seed.

The rest of the south bracket includes PH-Roanoke meeting William Fleming and the 4-5 meeting of Harrisonburg and Orange.

Brooke Point is the top seed in the north, with Massaponax at no. 2. The rest of the north bracket includes no. 3 Stafford hosting six seed North Stafford, and the 4-5 game between Mountain View and Potomac.

Regional semifinals action is set for Wednesday and the regional finals are Friday. The top two teams from region D advance to the state.

GIRLS SIDE: Either Halifaxor Albemarle have the no. 1 seed in the south bracket.

The rest of the south includes third-seeded PH-Roanoke, and no. 6 Fleming, and the 4-5 game between Orange and Harrisonburg.

Mountain View is the no. 1 seed in the north, with Massaponax set at no. 2. The rest of the north includes North Stafford and Potomac in the 4-5 game, while Stafford, at no. 3, and Brooke Point, at six, meet in the other first round north bracket contest.

The regional action for the girls is set for Wednesday, with the regional finals coming Friday.
