Trojans baseball tops Kenston Forest, 6-4, for first win

SoVaNow.com / March 27, 2019

Cody Hoffer pitched the entire game and struck out eight batters as the Bluestone Middle School Trojans baseball team bested Kenston Forest on a rain-drenched Monday, 6-4, to claim their first win of the season. The non-conference win puts the Trojans at 0-1 in Southside Middle School Conference play and 1-3 overall.

Bluestone had seven hits in the game. Davis Bowen, Hayden Platzke, Hoffer, Zach Peregoy, DeAndre Watson, Camren Jefferson and Cameron Shriver all had solid at-bats for the Trojans, while providing some nice RBIs for the final score.

Bluestone is scheduled to travel to Emporia to take on Edward W. Wyatt Middle School on Friday in a make-up game that was postponed due to rain.

Trojans softball suspended due to field conditions

The Bluestone Middle Lady Trojans softball team found their game with Kenston Forest suspended while play was going on due to wet conditions that made the field unplayable.

The score at the time the game was suspended was 10-8 in Kenston’s favor, but Bluestone had the game-tying run on first base with no outs at the time.

The Trojan girls will travel with the baseball team to Emporia on Friday to play Wyatt.
