Trojans soccer scores two shutouts

The Bluestone Middle School Trojans co-ed soccer team hosted two matches this past week and gained wins over Russell and Lunenburg.

On Thursday the team downed Russell Middle School 4-0. Bluestone found the net 7:22 into the match with a goal by Skyler Downey. The Trojans scored again at the 16:15 mark off a goal from Jaivon Anderson.

Emma Riegert scored the last goal of the first half at the 26:18 mark for the 3-0 score. Riegert scored the Trojans’ final goal of the match 9:03 in the second half for the 4-0 final. With the win Bluestone improved to 7-4.

Bluestone 6, Lunenburg 0

Bluestone hosted Lunenburg on Tuesday, Oct. 1. The first goal of the match was scored off a penalty kick by Emma Riegert 5:09 into the match.

Juan Carlos Jeronimo-Hurtado found the net at the 15:53 mark. Bluestone scored again at the 18:50 mark from a header by Austin Berry from an assist by Riegert. The last goal of the half was scored by Bluestone’s Blake Bohannon.

Bluestone found the net 13:14 into the second half scored by Jeronimo-Hurtado. The last goal was an “own goal” posted by Lunenburg for the 6-0 win.
