Sports Tryouts for fall sports to begin next week at middle schoolSoVaNow.com / February 11, 2021
Tryouts are scheduled for Halifax County Middle School fall sports.Golf - Any HCMS students interested in trying out for the golf team should come to Greens Folly Golf Course Tuesday, Feb. 16 and Wednesday, Feb. 17 from 3:30-5 p.m. Please bring a mask, your own water bottle, and proper golf gear. There will be temperature checks and screening questions done before students are able to participate. You also must have an up to date VHSL physical on file before trying out. Volleyball - HCMS girls interested in trying out for the volleyball team should report on Tuesday, Feb. 16 and Wednesday, Feb. 17 at 3:45 p.m. Students are asked to report to the bus parking lot behind the school for temperature checks and screening. Must have a ride. Tryouts will be from 3:45-5:15 p.m. Students are asked to bring a mask, their own water bottle, and wear athletic clothing. Please bring knee pads if you have them. You must have an up to date VHSL physical on file before trying out. Football - HCMS students wishing to tryout for football should plan on reporting to the middle school on February 16 and 17 at 3 p.m. You must have a ride. Screening will begin at 3 p.m. Parents are asked to bring students to the bus parking lot and wait for a coach to do the screening and temperature checks before getting out. Students are asked to bring a mask, their own water bottle, warm athletic clothes (sweat pants, long sleeve shirts, hoodies, stocking caps etc), and football cleats. Must have an up to date VHSL physical on file before participating. Tryouts will end at 5:15 pm. News & Record
