Two Baron golfers to compete in regionals

SoVaNow.com / September 26, 2012
The Bluestone Baron golf team placed third in the James River District tournament played last Wednesday at The Manor Golf Club in Farmville.

Capturing the district championship was Amelia, with the Statesmen of Randolph-Henry finishing in second place.

The Raiders and Statesmen will advance to the Region B golf tournament at The Manor in Farmville on Monday, Oct. 1.

Although Bluestone missed out on a postseason team invitation, two Baron golfers will compete for individual honors in the Region B tourney. They are Macey Mills and Justin Kidd, who have led the Barons golfers all year.

In previous action last week, the Barons competed in a tri-match with Randolph-Henry and the Fuqua School in Farmville. The golfers vanquished Fuqua 190-198, but fell short against Randolph-Henry, 170-178.

The Barons’ match with Buckingham was cancelled due to wet conditions.
