Two Dragons are first team All-State

Only two Class 3 schools in the state of Virginia put multiple players on the VHSL All-State first team, and Park View was one of them.

Junior hurler Justyn Hudson was one of three pitchers named to the first team squad. Hudson posted a banner year, was named first team all Tri-Rivers District and first team all 3A East Region along with the All-State recognition.

Senior DH Cameron Sheets, bound for Alderson Broaddus University in Philippi WV, was named to the VHSL first team as well. Sheets hit in the .400 range for the year and was named to the Tri-Rivers All District first team as well as the 3A East Region first Team.

Aside from Park View, only the Flucos of Fluvanna High — winners of the VHSL Class 3 baseball championship — had more than one player named All-State first team.

These are the players selected as 2019 VHSL Class 3 First Team All-State Baseball — Pitchers: Andrew Ward, Fluvanna, Brennan Abbott, Brookville, Justyn Hudson, Park View Catcher: Jacob Critzer, Fluvanna First base: Tanner Barrs, Abingdon. Second base: Grant Elliott, Tunstall. Third base: Jake Dudley, Culpeper. Shortstop: Brandon Marello, Tabb. Outfielders: Ricky Jones, Hopewell, Zach Coldsnow, Tabb, Alex Kinsey, William Monroe, Bryce Suters, Broadway. DH: Cameron Sheets, Park View. Utility: Trevor Croson, Spotsylvania. Player of the Year: Jacob Critzer, Fluvanna. Coach of the Year: Joel Gray, Fluvanna.
