Weather gets Bluestone’s season off to slow start / March 13, 2019
Bluestone baseball, softball and soccer teams all saw scrimmage games and practices cancelled this week due to wet and cold weather, but with a decent forecast ahead, varsity teams are ready to get busy competing.

Barons boys and girls varsity soccer got the spring sports season off to a solid start on Monday by claiming shutouts in both of their opening matches against Randolph-Henry. The girls won 5-0; the boys claimed the 4-0 win.

Soccer has matches against district opponent Prince Edward today at home. The girls match begins at 5:30 p.m. with the boys following.

Baseball and softball were scheduled to take to the diamond yesterday to begin regular season play. Both programs will only have varsity teams this year as participation levels for the jayvee programs are not adequate to field teams.

Softball and baseball hosted R-H yesterday and finish out the week on Thursday with the girls traveling to Farmville to take on Prince Edward. The boys will host PE in Skipwith with a game time of 5 p.m.
