Lady Comets NWR game postponed to Thursday

HCHS softball, whioch has seen its schedule battered about by the weather, had its Wednesday regional date postponed again, until today. The Comet girls, still trying to get their first round regional game against Hylton in the books, will play today. The Comets meet Hylton at 3 p.m. at Battlefield High School in Haymarket.

Comets playing for berth in state tournament

The HCHS baseball team will host Battlefield High School Wednesday at 6 p.m. in Northwest Regional action, with a berth to next week's state Group AAA tournament on the line. The Comets, who have been to the state twice in Kelvin Davis' tenure, will meet a Battlefield team that downed Potomac on Monday, 3-2.

Lady Comets NWR first round game postponed

The HCHS-Hylton Northwest Regional softball game Monday was postponed by rainy weather in Northern Virginia. Halifax and Hylton were scheduled to try again Tuesday at 4 p.m.

Clark, Bagbey, Rickman, Rose named to first team

Four Comets – Stephanie Clark, Jessie Bagbey, Paige Rickman and Betty Rose – earned first team all-Western Valley district softball honors.

Rosche earns first team soccer honors

Sarah Rosche of HCHS was the lone Comet to earn first team all-district honors for girls’ soccer, while two more HCHS performers earned second team honors.

Keck named to WVD soccer second team

HCHS had four selections to the spring 2009 all-Western Valley district team, including sophomore goalie Jordan Keck, a second-team pick.
