Lions sweep both ends of doubleheader

The HCMS baseball team swept both ends of a doubleheader over Russell Wednesday. The Lions won game one, 11-1, and prevailed in game two, 10-0, in dominating performances.

Lady Lions dominate Russell in DH

The HCMS softball team swept Russell in doubleheader action last week. The Lion girls took game one, 18-0, and then rolled in game two, 14-4.

Lions have respectable showings in recent track action

The HCMS track teams enjoyed respectable finishes in the recent conference meet. The boys took home a second place effort, while the girls were fourth overall.

HCMS plans Applebee’s fund-raiser

On Saturday May 9, Applebee’s will open their restaurant for breakfast so that the Halifax County Middle School Athletic Department can raise money for athletic equipment.

Lions rout Tunstall Monday

The HCMS baseball team breezed to a 14-0 win over Tunstall Monday afternoon. Seth Elliott got the win with four scoreless innings, as he fanned three and allowed two hits. Elliott walked one batter. Rufus Jeffress worked the final inning, allowing no hits or runs. Jeffress fanned two and walked one.

Lions score two wins

The HCMS baseball team swept a doubleheader against E.W. Wyatt Wednesday. The Lions won a one-run decision, 4-3, and also enjoyed a 12-2 victory.

Lions sweep in tri-meet

The HCMS girls’ and boys’ track teams swept to victory in a tri-meet last Thursday. The Lion boys won with 55 points in action against Bluestone and Park View. The Lion girls had a closer meet, but won with 54 points. Park View was second with 41 points and Bluestone had 39.
