Lions drop Park View

The HCMS baseball team got a strong pitching effort from Avery Anderson and Justin Womack, while getting a host of contributors offensively in a 7-1 win over Park View last Wednesday.

Lady Lions have potent offense

The HCMS softball team continued to roll behind a powerful combination of potent offense and stalwart pitching in a 12-1 win Wednesday over Park View.

Boys first, girls second in tri-meet

The HCMS boys won a track tri-meet last Thursday, while the Lion girls placed second. The Lion boys won the meet with 55 points, defeating Powhatan and Park View. The HCMS girls were second, finishing with 26 points. Powhatan won the girls’ meet with 90 points.

Lions edge Wake Warriors

The Lions got two key runs on one hit in the fourth, after several momentum shifts in this game. HCMS finished with eight hits, sparked by a 2-for-2 effort from Tyler Stevens, who also scored twice. He had one RBI.

Lions win track meet

The HCMS boys’ track team won its second meet in a row on March 24, downing Bluestone and Nottoway. The Lions collected 65 points to win the meet.

Lions improve to 4-0 with 11-3 win over PVMS

The Halifax County Middle School baseball team improved to 4-0 with an 11-3 win over Park View Monday. Seth Elliott got the win with four solid innings of work on the mound, with Ryan Powell finishing up in the lopsided win.

Lady Lions rout PVMS

The HCMS softball team opened conference play with a 10-0 rout of Park View Monday. HCHS got a tremendous pitching effort, as Miyana Ross, Courtney Epps and Beth Thomas combined on a no-hitter. Brianna Pierce had a three-hit game to spark the offense.
