The Halifax County High School varsity girls’ basketball team improved to 3-1 overall with a 48-43 win over E.C. Glass in Saturday’s Beacon Classic action in Lynchburg.

E.C. Glass downed the Halifax County High School jayvee girls’ basketball team, 50-42, in non-conference action Thursday night.

Three issues – including a key late-game defensive adjustment by Southern Durham and a costly late injury hampering Halifax County High School – determined the outcome of the Spartans-Comets girls’ varsity matchup Tuesday night.

Jayvees showing size, promise

There are some miles to go before they get there, but the talent level and overall athleticism on this year’s Halifax County High School boys’ jayvee basketball team offers considerable promise for the future.
