Spikers get win over Randolph Henry

The HCHS volleyball team improved to 10-6 overall with a non-district win over Randolph-Henry Tuesday. The Comet spikers are 2-2 in the district, and return to WVD action Thursday at Franklin County.

A learning experience

The improving HCHS golf program ran into a dose of reality Thursday. The Comets, back in the Northwest regional with a full team entry for the first time in the David Graham era, finished last in the eight-team field.

The HCHS varsity volleyball team continued its district success Thursday, downing archrival GW-Danville, three games to one.

The HCHS JV and varsity volleyball teams swept Fleming in district action Tuesday night. And the Comet varsity did so in comeback fashion, digging out of a deficit in the decisive fourth game to win the match, three games to none.

Comets earn spot in NWR golf tournament

Halifax Countys rapidly improving varsity golf program took a major step forward Wednesday. The Comets finished second in the Western Valley district tournament and earned a team spot in this weeks Northwest Regional tournament. Parker Harrell and T.J. Daniel earned all-district honors, based on their tournament play. And the Comets posted a strong performance on a windy day to secure a regional spot.

Comets post pair of fifth places in cross country

HCHS posted a couple of fifth place finishes in the Metro Cross Country meet held in Danville Monday.

The HCHS varsity volleyball team started well against district rival Franklin County, but the Comets could not sustain the effort against the Eagles Tuesday night. Halifax (7-5, 0-1) opened with a win against the Eagles, but then lost the next three games as FCHS sealed the district win.
