Eagles continue WVD dominance

Franklin County continued its dominance of the Western Valley district regular season golf race Monday. The Eagles shot a 302 in round two and now own a commanding lead in the regular season race. The WVD regular season champion gets one of the two regional berths.

Cross country rebuilding

The HCHS cross country programs have rebuilding tasks this season, although the girls’ squad has more returnees. “We are a very young team, with little experience this season, but we have some good athletes that should be able to contribute immediately,”said coach Brady Taylor.

Lady Comets fall to Rockets

After a season-opening win over Gretna last Friday, the HCHS varsity volleyball team ran into a tougher deal playing Person County Tuesday. The Comets fell, three games to one, although HCHS scratched out a game three win, 25-23.

Comets second in WVD meet

A dominating win on one of its designated home courses has allowed Franklin County’s golf team to sprint away from the rest of Western Valley District brethren. The Eagles haven’t lapped the field yet, but they appear on their way to doing so.
