After jumping out in front of their guests, the Bluestone volleyball girls lost their touch against Nottoway and dropped a James River District home match in four games last Wednesday.

The Bluestone cross country team traveled to Nottoway last week for a James River District quad meet with Buckingham, Cumberland and the host Cougars. The course was very grueling but the Barons fared well in the meet.

After a rough start to the season, the Cumberland High School football team made a couple of changes prior to its homecoming game against Bluestone Friday night, and they seemed to work out well for the Dukes, who cruised to a 55-8 victory over the Barons.

The Bluestone cross country team traveled to Cumberland last week to compete in a quad meet with Randolph-Henry, Amelia and the host Dukes.

Former Bluestone standout Michael Tucker to be inducted in Longwood Hall

Tucker, already a member of Longwood University's Athletics Hall of Fame, will be inducted a second time as part of the 1991 baseball team that made it to the Division II World Series final four.
