Dragons prepare for new season

The 2011 baseball and softball seasons at Park View begin this week with games at home for both the boys and girls. The boys varsity is set to open play today, March 23 while the girls softball team played yesterday afternoon. In a scrimmage warm-up on Monday, the jayvee Dragon softball team took on Central of Lunenburg and won came up short, 17-11. Park View Dragons host annual alumni baseball game

Get out to a great ball game on Saturday, April 30. See some great local baseball played from some of your favorite Park View players from years past. Alumni can contact coach Mike Greene at 434- 917-2105 to sign up to play. Game time is 4:00 at Dragon Field and a rain date will be determined. Don’t strike out and miss the event.

Park View’s Jasmine “Bae Bae” Smith has been named to the 2010-2011 girls All-Region 1 team in balloting of coaches announced this week.

Park View fell short in Southside District tournament action last week against Southampton, but the Dragons’ season continued last night in the regional playoffs for boys’ prep basketball.

Southampton prevails in tourney second round

Southampton High School boys defeated Park View 67-57 Wednesday night in the semifinal round of the Southside District tournament.

Dragon boys advance in district tourney; other local teams out

Girls basketball teams at both local high schools were eliminated Monday in the Southside District tournament, but in boys action the Park View Dragons remain alive heading into second round play tonight.
