The Park View High School Dragons scored a last-minute upset over their archrivals to the east, the Brunswick Bulldogs, in a tense 20-16 game before a fired-up crowd on hand for Senior Night at Dragon Stadium Friday night.

Lady Dragons bow to Powhatan

The Park View High School Lady Dragons lost their final game of the season Monday to the champions of the Southside District, Powhatan, and the girls fell short of advancing to the district volleyball tournament later in the week.

The Park View Dragons kept possession of the King of the County trophy Friday night as they pounded Bluestone 48-13 behind an effective ground game highlighted by quarterback Daveon Gregory’s three rushing touchdowns.

Fresh off a disappointing loss to Bluestone, the Park View girls volleyball team ventured to Lawrenceville on Thursday to take on the Lady Bulldogs of Brunswick, and the road trip proved to be just the ticket to lift the Lady Dragons’ spirits.

Boosted by big plays by Rameek Harris and a rugged ground game, Park View hung tough with Southampton all night long, but the Dragons came up just short in a 30-26 loss to the Indians Friday night.
