The Bluestone Barons jayvee basketball team pulled out a 46-45 win over Powhatan last week despite scoring only five points in the final quarter, allowing the Junior Indians to get back into the contest.

The Bluestone Lady Barons varsity basketball team got off to a slow start Wednesday night and it proved to be their undoing in a 58-51 loss to the Central of Lunenburg Lady Chargers.

Barons get first win of season at Central, but are swept by R-H

The Bluestone Barons picked up their first win of the young high school basketball season by beating Central of Lunenburg last Wednesday by a 70-63 score.

The Bluestone Barons opened the new season with a pair of losses to teams that will be regular dates on the Barons’ district calendar next year when Bluestone makes the jump to the Group A ranks.

The Bluestone boys jayvee team achieved a split in their first two games of the new basketball season, edging Randolph-Henry by two points Wednesday but losing handily to Central of Lunenburg Friday night at Bluestone.
