The Bluestone varsity boys basketball team won its Southside District opener on Wednesday as the Barons tripped up Powhatan, 56-52, behind a 22-point effort by guard Brandon Allen.

Dragons edge Prince Edward, improve to 4-0

The Park View Dragons downed the Prince Edward varsity boys basketball team 63-58 in the Southside District opener for both teams in Farmville last Wednesday night.

Park View jayvees crushed by Eagles

The jayvee Dragons from Park View welcomed the visiting Prince Edward County Eagles on Wednesday. The Dragons seemed eager to defend their home court. However, costly turnovers and the inability to consistently find ways to score led to the biggest defeat of the season for Park View as they fell in a 25 point blowout to the Eagles.

The Bluestone Barons jayvee basketball team pulled out a 46-45 win over Powhatan last week despite scoring only five points in the final quarter, allowing the Junior Indians to get back into the contest.

Lady Barons fall to Central, but top Buckingham, R-H

The Bluestone Lady Barons varsity basketball team got off to a slow start Wednesday night and it proved to be their undoing in a 58-51 loss to the Central of Lunenburg Lady Chargers.

Dragons rout Central, raise mark to 3-0

The Park View Dragons upped their early season record to 3-0 after thrashing the Central of Lunenburg Chargers 80-41 in Victoria Friday night.

Barons get first win of season at Central, but are swept by R-H

The Bluestone Barons picked up their first win of the young high school basketball season by beating Central of Lunenburg last Wednesday by a 70-63 score.
