The Virginia Dixie Ponytails entered play last night as the lone unbeaten team after four days of the Dixie Ponytails World Series action, raising hopes that the local all-stars can bring the national trophy back home with them to South Hill.

4-H shooting club competes in district event

The South Hill Dixie Ponytails are headed to Columbia County, Ga. this week to compete in the Dixie World Series for the second straight year — this time with high hopes of bringing a national championship back home with them.

South Hill Majors bow out Sunday

The South Hill Dixie Majors All-Stars saw their postseason run come to an end Sunday after losing 5-2 to Buckingham County in the Virginia state tournament held in Lunenburg County this week.

Clarksville Belles finish as runners-up in state tournament

The Clarksville Dixie Youth Belles All-Stars finished as runners-up in the Virginia state tournament last week, falling Tuesday to eventual champions Charlotte County by a 15-3 score.
