GW-Danville cruised to an 8-1 Western Valley district win over Halifax County High School in boys’ tennis action.

There is always subtle pressure on the players in the Halifax County High School varsity baseball program, given the high expectations for the program. But you can’t quibble with 8-1.

The Halifax County High School girls tennis team scored a win over district opponent William Fleming on Monday with a perfect 9-0 score. Jessica Palmer led the team at the number one position with a 6-0, 6-0 shutout. Monica Puckett playing at number six also scored a shutout. No Comets lost more than three games as they won all six singles and three doubles in straight sets.
The Halifax County High School girls’ and boys’ track teams posted very respectable finishes at the recent Bulldog relays in Lynchburg.
