SOFTBALL WINNERS — Jessie Bagbey was presented the Comet Award; Stephanie Clark, the MVP award and Sydney Puryear, Most Improved. Clark was earned Player of the Year honors in the Western Valley District
Halifax County High School swept two of the top honors for the all-Western Valley district softball team. Senior pitcher Stephanie Clark was named player of the year in the WVD, and Melanie Saunders was named coach of the year.

Dabbs heading to WSSU

Former Comet Deshon Dabbs has signed with Winston-Salem State to play basketball next season. Brandon Garner became the lone Comet named as a first team selection on the all-Western Valley District boys soccer team.

Brown earns first team honors

Nia Brown, who had an outstanding season in goal for the Halifax County High School varsity girls’ soccer program, landed the lone first team selection when the Western Valley District soccer all-star team was announced.
