A look back at statistical results

Comets grade well in scrimmage

Comet head football coach Stan Hodgin came away very pleased after the first preseason scrimmage Friday against Prince Edward High School. “I thought our effort, I thought our focus, I thought our enthusiasm was outstanding. We are at least where we hoped to be, if not a little further along,” said Hodgin.

Patches Trent
Halifax County varsity football fans looking for improvement over last year’s 3-7 finish should take notice of one major positive for this year’s Comet edition. HCHS has an experienced senior quarterback, Patches Trent, who won’t be splitting time at the position again. Trent appears to be showing excellent leadership skills.

Hodgin addresses areas of concern

HCHS varsity football coach Stan Hodgin has several areas to address when the Comets participate in their first preseason scrimmage tomorrow afternoon in Lynchburg. The Comets will scrimmage Prince Edward High School in preparation for the season opener on Friday, Aug. 28, at Petersburg.
