Lady Lions snatch victory

The Halifax County Middle School Lions Volleyball team won its match Tuesday against the Wyatt Middle School Panthers, three games to none. The scores were: Game 1: 25-5 Halifax; Game 2: 25-10 Halifax; Game 3: 25-7 Halifax

Lion golf wins again

The HCMS golf team continued its success, winning a match against Powhatan on Monday.

Lions breeze to soccer win

The HCMS soccer team breezed to a 7-0 win against Central of Charlotte Thursday.

Lady Lions fall in opener

The Halifax County Middle School Lions Volleyball team lost its first match of the season against the Central Middle School Bobcats Thursday. HCMS fell 3-2.

Lions remain unbeaten

The unbeaten HCMS football team rolled to a 44-20 win over Lunenburg Wednesday night. It’s the first conference win for the Lions, now 3-0 overall.

Lion golfers defeat season’s biggest rival

The HCMS golf team defeated its biggest rival this season - Central - with another terrific round of team golf on Monday. Coach Charlie Payne said the Lion golfers “played well. The kids hit a lot of good shots and played extremely well.”

Lions topple FC

This should give Comet football fans hope for the future. The HCMS football team earned a significant victory, downing Franklin County, 30-16, Wednesday.

The HCMS Lions edged GW-Danville, 16-14, for their first win of the season Wednesday night. The Lions found themselves behind on GW’s first play from scrimmage when the Eagles connected on a 70 yd TD pass to lead 6-0.
