A product of HCHS journalism

I know I am not supposed to believe everything I hear, but I cannot help but be concerned when I keep hearing whispers about the journalism department at the high school.
You see, I am a product of the HCHS journalism department, or rather, I am a graduate of the Richard Fitz School of Journalism at HCHS, class of 1972.
There I learned that everything my parents had already taught me was true. Values like honesty, truthfulness, fairness, and responsibility were reinforced in those classes.

Trustees reassign administrators

The Halifax County School Board approved several administrative assignment changes for the coming 2009-2010 school year as the trustees gathered for their regular monthly session Monday night at Sinai Elementary School.
The changes include: Marliss H. Barczak will move to Cluster Springs Elementary School to serve as associate principal; John W. Courtney will move to the STEM Center as building administrator; Charla F. Crews will move to Federal Programs as an instructional technology specialist, and Kevin M. Neal will move to South Boston Elementary School to serve as assistant principal.

An interview with ‘Groucho’

The show has received rave reviews on the London and New York stage, plus on PBS. In it, Ferrante re-creates the madcap genius of Groucho Marx, who died in 1977.

Where the ducks roam

The 501 Business Bridge in Riverdale will be closed (northbound and southbound) to through traffic at the Dan River Saturday, May 16 from 2:30-3:45 p.m. due to The Ducks on the Dan Derby Duck Race. Customers wishing to patronize Riverdale businesses will still be allowed in.
