Clover II News for Jan. 14, 2016

Happy New Year once more to all of our Clover II readers.

It is finally cold out there. Had to turn that heat up and put on a pot of soup of some kind right?

We say Happy Birthday to all celebrating this week, especially saying Happy Birthday to our assistant clerk at St. Matthews Darlene Davis, who celebrated on Monday. Her husband took her away for the weekend for a must needed rest. Good job Floyd.

Willie Carter will be celebrating Thursday and Curon Moore, grandson of Retha Garrett will be celebrating on the Saturday. Also shouting Happy Birthday to Mary Green of Guilltown Road.

Heartfelt sympathy goes out to all family that have lost love ones. Especially being sent to the family of Janie Lacks Bouwell. We will continue to ask God to give you strength as you face the day ahead. The word says “Trust and believe in him, he will not leave you”

The community continue to have a lot of sick members and we are asking for prayer for them also. Bernice Dixon is in need of your prayer, she had to return to the hospital for additional care. Please also say a prayer for James Hill, who is having health issues that are keeping him from attending church the way he wants to.

One of our oldest community member is in Woodview Nursing Home for a short stay Susie Sykes, who God has blessed to be on this earth 99 years. Please say a prayer for these that I have mentioned and for those that I do not know about.

Congregations to Danielle Crews who will be adding something new to her plate Tuesday. Besides working at Vista Clinic Diagnostics in Danville, she will be teaching a class in Phlebotomy at Danville Community College. Please pray that God will continue to bless her as she travels. To all of our school children who made the honor roll, good job.

The first worship service for St. Matthews took place Sunday at 11:30 a.m. We were blessed to have a good number of members present for worship. The Gospel Chorus ministry to the congregation by singing songs of inspiration. Pastor Chandler delivered a New Year’s message, “Step Out of Your Comfort Zone”. This message was based around the following scriptures, Genesis 11:27-32, also Genesis 12:1-9 and Acts 7:1-4. The word was well received by all that were present. The church was also very blessed to welcome in two new members, a husband and wife team that are coming in ready to work. Andre and Debra Ervin, have just became members of the Clover community within the last year. We are so happy to welcome them into our family and are so looking forward to worshipping and working with them.

Sending a special shout out to Shonda Powell, for her inspirational morning post on Facebook. Shonda keep up the good work.

God bless all until next week. Remember keep God first in all you do. Lord, thank you for your example of what it really means to pray. Amen.
