Joseph Edward Silver


 

Joseph Edward Silver, 64, of Kerns, Utah and formerly of Meherrin, died Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2022 at his residence.

Mr. Silver, affectionately known as “Sonny”, was born in Tacoma, Wash., Feb. 1, 1957 to the late Bennie and Alice Glenn Noble. After receiving his high school diploma, he would further his education at the University of Utah where he received a bachelors degree. He then moved to Tulsa, Ok., to attend the Oral Roberts University where he received his masters degree in international business. He would later meet and married his future wife, Kyla Fontenot-Silver. From this union, two beautiful children were born. Mr. Silver was known for his great sense of humor. He loved good blues and R&B music. He followed his passion and traveled all over the country as semi-truck driver which made him feel closer to God.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his son David Edward Silver of Keysville, two daughters, Heidi Rugg of Cedar City, Utah and Emma Leighann Silver of Williamsburg, two grandchildren, Quinton Rugg and Dymitri Rugg of Cedar City, Utah; a special friend, Kim Glasker of Kerns, Utah; one devoted brother, Douglas Noble of Centraila, Wash.; one devoted niece, Ophelia Noble of Washington, and a host of cousins, family and friends.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, Feb. 4, at 1 p.m. at Smithson Brothers Mortuary, Chase City.
