Margaret Edmondson Carrington, 68, of Reverend Coleman Road, Clover died at her home on Friday, Sept. 23, 2016. She was born in Halifax County on Feb. 7, 1948, a daughter of Estelle Dabbs Edmondson and the late John David Edmondson, Sr. She was married to the late Eddie Carrington Jr. and was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church.
In addition to her mother, Mrs. Carrington is survived by one daughter, Sheila Carrington of Clover; two sons, Cornell Edmondson and wife Patsy B. of Charlotte County and Feliciano “Duke” Carrington of Clover; two grandchildren, TyRell and TyKeria Edmondson of Charlotte County; two sisters, Lola Clark and husband Robert of South Boston and Daisy Edmondson of Clover; three brothers, James Edmondson and wife Margaret of Richmond, John Edmondson and wife Patsy H. of South Boston and Clarence Edmondson and wife Christine of Halifax; three sisters-in-law, Ruby Carrington and Linda Baker, both of Nathalie, and Mary Carrington of Halifax; a devoted niece, Odduster Edmondson, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by one son and one sister.
A funeral will be held Saturday, Oct. 1 at 2 p.m. at Piney Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Moses Dixon officiating. Burial will follow in Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery.
Public viewing will be Friday, Sept. 30 from 10 a.m.-8 p.m. at Jeffress Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends at 1123 Reverend Coleman Road, Clover.
