Boy Scout Sign-up
Boy Scout sign up will be on Thursday, September 30, at 6:30 p.m. in the LaCrosse EMS cafeteria. A representative will be meeting with boys interested in joining Boy Scouts so please stop by to learn more about this organization.

Clarksville Hydroplane Challenge Meeting
The Clarksville Economic Development Association will meet on Thursday, September 30 to put the finishing touches on the plans for the Clarksville Hydroplane Challenge. We will meet at 7:00 p.m. at the Clarksville Community Center. We are looking for volunteers to help with this event and we welcome your involvement. Softball Tournament
Halifax County/South Boston Crime Line 2nd Annual Softball Tournament in memory of Alex Williamson will be held on Saturday, October 2nd form 9:00 a.m. until. And Sunday October 3 from 9:00 a.m. until at the day complex on Houghton Avenue in South Boston. $110.00 Entry fee, double elimination, three games guaranteed. Bake Sale
Clarksville Regional Museum will be selling bake goods near Simmons Reality during Harvest Fest on Saturday October 2. Proceeds to benefit the Museum.

Yard Sale Items Needed
Yard sale Items needed. Books, Jewelry, dishes, holiday decorations, candles, tools, fishing equipment, wreaths, knick-knacks, kitchen, supplies, vases, silk, and dried flowers and more. If you don’t want it, we do. Finish your cleaning and bring us your donations. Clean, like new, clothes only accepted. Yard sale coming soon at Hazelwood house adult day health care center, Saturday, October 2, from 7:00 p.m. until 12:00 p.m. Donations will be accepted until Wednesday September 29, bring all items to the Hazelwood house 1107 W. Rocking for deck will be held on Tuesday, September 28, from 1:30 until 2:30 p.m. Hazelwood house ADHC is in the final stages of completion of the outdoor area behind the ADHC building. This beautiful area is for participants and staff to enjoy away from the traffic in the front. This area will be used for picnics, a sit down area when going for a walk and playing games when it gets cooler. Each participant or staff person that collects $100 or more will receive a rocking for deck 2010 t-shirt. Your donation will be greatly appreciated and our project will be completed soon. Stew Sale
Clarksville Ruritans Brunswick Stew will be sold on October 2, It is stew season again! Call ACE Hardware at (434) 374-8629 to place orders. The stew is $5.00 per quart or six or more for $4.50 per quart. Orders can be picked up from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon at the Community Center. Stew will also be for sale in front of Dollar General and at the Ruritan Thrift Shop located behind Wachovia Bank starting at 10:00 a.m. Saturday.

Warren County Women of Achievement
The Chamber of Commerce of Warren County presents: Women of Warren, Celebrating Our Passions, Honoring “Women of Achievement” 2010 at “The Senior High School Girls of Warren County” Guest speaker – Kelcey Carlson, WRAL – TV Featured Singer, Arnetta Yancey on Saturday, October 2, from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the Warren County Armory Civic Center located at 501 US 158 – Business East in Warrenton, NC; tickets are $15.00 per person, tickets are available at the Chamber Office 252-257-2657, located at 130 N. Annual Skipwith Day
Annual Skipwith Day will be held on October 3. The Parade starts at 1:00 p.m. Food will be served immediately following parade. Bowl of stew, bread, and a drink – $4.00. Southside Tea Party
There will be a Southside Tea Party meeting on Sunday, October 3, at 3:00 p.m. at the Robert Lee Community Center in Chase City, located on Hwy 92/49 beside the Chase City Fire Department. This is not a political party, everyone is welcome!

BHS Class of 1985 Reunion
Bluestone Sr. High School Class of 1985 Reunion will be held on October 9, at Clarksville Community Center. Digital Photography Class
Learn the basics of better picture taking with your digital camera by enrolling in this four-week photography course. You’ll learn the fundamentals of using all of the features of your digital camera as well as, saving pictures to your computer, enhancing them with free software, printing your photos, and emailing them to family members. This is your chance to master your digital camera! The class will be given every Tuesday evening in October. The class time is 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., on October 5, 12, 19, and 26. The class will be held at the Lake Country Distance Education Center located in the new Clarksville Enrichment Complex on Noblin Farm Road. Blood Drive
The American Red cross will be having a Blood Drive at Antioch Baptist Church located at 6700 Barnesville Hwy in Red Oak on Thursday, October 7, from 12:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. The local churches sponsor the drive. Hebron United Methodist Church in Saxe is the sponsor of this drive. Trauma and accidents victims, patients requiring surgery or undergoing cancer treatment will be counting on you to come and give the gift of life.

Bluestone High Reunion
Bluestone High School Graduating Class of 1970 to hold their 40th reunion October 9. If your address has changed since the 35th reunion, or if you did not receive a reunion letter for the 35th please contact Robin Glasscock Bowen (434-374-4129) or Maxie Clay (434-372-5586). Letters for the 40th reunion will be mailed around the first of August.

Story Hour Returns!
Story Hour at the Clarksville Area Public Library will return beginning Thursday, October 21. It will be held every third Thursday of the month from 10:30 until 11:30 a.m. for preschool children ages 3-5. Space is limited. For more information, please call Eileen at 434-374-8692. Boston Butt/BBQ Sale
Life Station will be having Boston Butt/BBQ for sale on Boydton Day on October 30. Boston Butts will be sold for $25.00 and BBQ for $6.00 a pound.
