Suspect sought in Wendy’s robbery


South Boston Police are looking for the black male who robbed a manager of the Wendy’s restaurant located on Old Halifax Road in South Boston Monday morning.

The robbery occurred in the parking lot around 9:08 a.m. as the manager headed off to the bank to deposit the funds taken in over the weekend.

When officers arrived on the scene they spoke with the employee, who stated that she was walking to her vehicle when someone grabbed her, knocked her to the ground, and stole a bank bag with an undisclosed amount of cash.

According to the witness, there was no weapon displayed.

South Boston officers were assisted in their investigation by members of the Virginia State Police and the Halifax County Sheriff’s Department and a canine unit.

The man, described only as being thin and about six feet tall, wearing a white t-shirt and dark pants, left the scene on foot.
