Allen receives Principal’s Award

Kathryn Allen, a senior at Halifax County High School, is the 2021 winner of the Principal’s Award, announced by the school on Wednesday. Allen serves as the first-ever student liaison to the Halifax County School Board, recently winning praise by trustees for her insights on student life during COVID-19. HCHS Principal Michael Lewis presents the award to Allen, said “Kathyrn is a very dedicated student and a hard worker” who is “passionate about making a difference in her school and community.” As liaison to the School Board, Allen “was always prepared to speak on behalf of her peers,” Lewis added. Allen is also the winner of the Teach for Tomorrow Scholarship at HCHS. / June 10, 2021
