After struggling through shutdowns and muted observances last year, Mecklenburg celebrated the Fourth of July in a big way this weekend. Fireworks lit up the nighttime sky Friday as South Hill brought back Picnic in the Park. The Town of Clarksville was the scene of the Clarksville Ruritan Independence Day parade, which was canceled in 2020 by COVID-19.
