Keith Langford’s truck hangs over a retaining wall. / March 03, 2021

A driverless pickup truck plowed through a fence and over a retaining wall at Century 21 on the Lake in Clarksville early Tuesday morning.

According firefighters with the Clarksville Volunteer Fire Department, no one was inside the gray Toyota Tacoma when it rolled over a steel fence and onto a retaining wall at the real estate office, located at 412 Virginia Avenue, around 8:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Keith Langford said he thought he’d put the vehicle in park before heading into the Century 21 on the Lake building where he works as a real estate agent.

The pickup was eventually stopped by a steel sign marking the location of kerosene pumps at the 7 Eleven convenience store next door.

No one was hurt, and police and firefighters were waiting to extract the truck from its precarious perch before offering any estimates on the extent of the damage.
