Frances Katherine Erwin, 78, of Lynchburg, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, Aug. 10, 2010, at her residence.

Born in Washington, D.C., on Oct. 8, 1931, she was a daughter of Ruth Hanowell LoBianco of Lynchburg and the late Francis LoBianco and was the wife of the Rev. Frank A. Erwin. Mrs. Erwin was a member of First Presbyterian Church, where she was a member of the Presbyterian Woman’s Group. Frances also taught Sunday school for 62 years. She was a member of the Tri Delta Sorority at William & Mary. Mrs. Erwin was very involved in the activities at Westminster Canterbury, including chairwoman of the Arts & Crafts show, the Christmas party for the staff and the dinning room committee.

In addition to her husband and mother, Francis is survived by her children, Terry E. Denton and her husband, Michael, of Clarksville, Frank K. Erwin and his wife, Sarah, of Nashville, Tenn., James F. Erwin and his wife, Donna, of Falls Church, Tim J. Erwin and his wife, Linda, of Sugar Land, Texas, and Kerri L. Mohl and her husband, John, of Manassas; eight grandchildren, Simone Thomson, Max Erwin, Hepzibah Jones, Anastasia Erwin, Emily Erwin, Elisa Erwin, Johnny Mohl and Taryn Mohl; one great-grandchild, Thelonious Jones; two sisters, Ruth Janey and Maria Curtin; and one brother, Derrick LoBianco.
